Early life and career

Dietmar Hamann was born on 27 August 1973 in Ostercappeln, West Germany. He began his professional career with Bayern Munich in 1993, and quickly established himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in Germany.

Hamann was a key member of the Bayern Munich team that won the Bundesliga title in 1994 and 1997. He also helped the club to reach the final of the UEFA Champions League in 1999.

Move to Liverpool

In 1999, Hamann joined Liverpool for a fee of £8.5 million. He quickly became a fan favorite at Anfield, and was a key member of the team that won the UEFA Champions League in 2005.
